2021 CCUSA Annual Report: A Year of Service through Encounter

September 1, 2021

In 2021, Catholic Charities continued its sacred mission of reaching out to others with compassion, following the call of Pope Francis to encounter those along the margins, “placing the dignity of the person at the center, especially if they are wounded and marginalized.”

Summary

Catholic Charities goes to where the need is and meets people where they are.

That tradition continued in 2021, as the global pandemic weighed on the economy, food security and housing availability, with devastating effects on people already living in fragile environments. In some parts of the country, natural disasters compounded the impact of these crises.

Catholic Charities’ commitment to alleviating suffering and reducing poverty never wavers.

Catholic Charities agencies served 15 million people in 2021.
