Marie Baxter, the chief executive officer of Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada (CCNN), has joined the Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) Board of Directors. Baxter brings decades of nonprofit leadership and expertise to the board, which provides thoughtful oversight and governance of CCUSA and its strategic initiatives.
Baxter has led CCNN as CEO since 2018, having previously served as the agency’s chief development officer and chief operating officer. Before joining CCNN, Baxter held senior leadership positions at the Reno Rodeo Foundation and the Davidson Institute for Talent Development. She holds both a master’s degree and bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nevada Reno.
CCNN is largest humanitarian service agency in Northern Nevada, spanning 60,617 square miles of geography and operating eight direct services programs. Under Baxter’s leadership, the agency has grown in depth and breadth and expanded its programs to address poverty and homelessness.
CCUSA is a national membership organization that supports and represents 170 Catholic Charities agencies across the United States. The members of CCUSA’s board are drawn from a cross section of the social service and corporate worlds. The board includes independent directors as well as diocesan directors of Catholic Charities agencies from around the country.
