Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) applauds the US Senate for passing the ROAD to Housing Act of 2025 with bipartisan support on October 10, 2025. All of God’s children deserve a safe, decent place to call home, but a severe shortage of affordable housing and a critical lack of services continue to lead to alarming rates of homelessness around our nation. This is a pressing moral crisis in need of common-sense solutions, and this legislation will remove unnecessary barriers to new housing construction and provide greater incentives for local communities to build more affordable homes. CCUSA urges the House of Representatives to make this legislation an urgent priority.
