CCUSA expresses appreciation for introduction of Immigration Court Efficiency and Children’s Court Act of 2023

In a letter to members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) President and CEO Kelly Alys Robinson expressed appreciation for the introduction of the Immigration Court Efficiency and Children’s Court Act of 2023, which aims to establish a child-friendly immigration court system specifically designed to prioritize their safety and best interest.

If passed, the Act would be a significant step forward in addressing the unique needs of vulnerable children who have experienced so much adversity and trauma on their journey to the United States in search of refuge. The letter also suggests that several provisions be improved and refined to further promote the protection and safety of the children involved and to safeguard their rights.
