Thanksgiving in San Antonio

Catholic Charities Diocese of San Antonio hosted a Thanksgiving event on the Monday before the holiday.

The agency distributed 40-pound boxes of food to over 300 families. Boxes included turkeys, canned goods, dry goods, potatoes, fruit, and dessert.

Adult volunteers also delivered boxes to the homes of seniors in the Adopt-A-Senior program.

Archibishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, joined staff and volunteers to serve the community on his 10th anniversary as archbishop. He blessed the food and helped to distribute boxes to our community.

Catholic Charities’ President/CEO, J. Antonio Fernandez, said, “This year has been a tough one for our families,” said J. Antonio Fernandez, president and CEO of Catholic Charities Diocese of San Antonio. “We are pleased to come together to feed our children, our families, and our seniors in a season that celebrates gratitude and faith. And on the day of his anniversary as an archbishop, we are so grateful to have Archbishop Gustavo serving with us on his anniversary and guiding us along the way.”
