Catholic Charities Dallas broke a record on March 26, 2020 – one we have mixed emotions about. On the one hand, a record 165 cars came through the food distribution point at our Central Service Building, representing families from all over North Texas. (The turnout was equally huge at Cardinal Farrell Center in south Dallas and our Marillac food pantry in west Dallas.) We are proud we were able to serve people with bags and boxes of staples, fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, meat and milk. On the other hand, in the wake of COVID-19 this may be their only access to food.
Please continue to pray; we are. The need to feed, house and financially support our brothers and sisters in our community is growing daily. Catholics Charities is striving to be your hands in this crisis.
COVID19 Prayer
May God bless and protect your families. Please pray for the end to this tribulation, for those infected by the virus, for the repose of the souls who have passed and for those are suffering from the social and economic damage.
For all who have contracted coronavirus,
We pray for care and healing.
For those who are particularly vulnerable,
We pray for safety and protection.
For all who experience fear or anxiety,
We pray for peace of mind and spirit.
For affected families who are facing difficult decisions between food on the table or public safety,
We pray for policies that recognize their plight.
For those who do not have adequate health insurance,
We pray that no family will face financial burdens alone.
For those who are afraid to access care due to immigration status,
We pray for recognition of the God-given dignity of all.
For our brothers and sisters around the world,
We pray for shared solidarity.
For public officials and decisionmakers,
We pray for wisdom and guidance.
Father, during this time may your Church be a sign of hope, comfort and love to all.
Grant peace.
Grant comfort.
Grant healing.
Be with us, Lord.
Amen.
