CCUSA asks Congress to support children, vulnerable people in budget package

Alexandria, Va. (September 3, 2021) – In a letter to congressional leadership this week, Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) urged policymakers to prioritize the needs of individuals and families struggling to make ends meet. The following priorities were highlighted:

·         Affordable Housing ·         Medicare Expansion
·         Child Tax Credit ·         Nutrition Programs
·         Early Head Start ·         Telehealth
·         Immigration Reform ·         Universal Pre-K
·         Medicaid Gap Fix ·         Workforce Development

The list included support for nonprofits, charitable giving and the protection of human life as crucial areas to strengthen via the reconciliation bill. The full letter can be read on CCUSA’s website.
