PURPOSE OF POSITION:
A Therapist at Catholic Charities:
Obtains information about participants through use of interview, case history, and observational techniques.
Conducts counseling or therapeutic treatments, in either individual or group sessions as appropriate, to assist participants in gaining insight into personal problems, define goals, and plan actions reflecting interests, abilities, and needs and to discuss progress towards achieving goals.
Acts as an advocate for participants and/or participant systems when appropriate.
Develop treatment plans; monitor treatment progress and follow-up at disposition times.
Assist participants with psychological development, social development, and rehabilitation.
Coordinate participant’s use of other MHCD programs and outside community resources.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrates strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of methods of psychotherapy.
Knowledge of community resources.
Ability to assess crisis situations and intervene appropriately.
Familiarity with the DSM V and diagnostic techniques.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years of experience in clinical social work or related field. Experience with working with moderate to severe and persistently mentally ill populations. Knowledge/experience with substance abuse disorders and treatments preferred. Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or similar field. Currently license eligible or licensed as a LCSW/LPC/LAC in the State of Colorado. Provisionally Licensed or can obtain provisional license within 60 days.
* Candidates who have passed their provisional licensure exam and are receiving or needing clinical supervision hours or; who are receiving or needing supervision to work towards eligibility for examination and can be licensed in less than 24 months will also be considered for this position. Catholic Charities may provide supervision for those candidates that are working towards licensure during employment period.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
Salary: $60,000-$75,000 per year

Training provided within the first year of employment includes: De-escalation & Safety; Mental Health First Aid; Substance Abuse & Mental Health; Human Trafficking; Trauma Informed Care; and many more.

Shift is Full Time
Extensive Paid Time Off (4 weeks accrual for new employees – increasing based on tenure) promoting work life balance.
