Catholic leaders call for climate action

October 28, 2015

Today, CCUSA President and CEO Sister Donna Markham joined Dr. Carolyn Woo (Catholic Relief Services), Archbishop Thomas Wenski (USCCB Committee on Domestic Justice and Human Development), and Bishop Oscar Cantu (USCCB Committee on International Justice and Peace) in urging policymakers in Congress and the US State Department to position the United States as a leader in international efforts to fight climate change at the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference in Paris.

“As people of faith, we pray that our political leaders will embrace the difficult truth and the necessary changes that need to be made in order to be good stewards of the gifts that God has given all of us. We urge you to support funding for the Green Climate Fund and strong U.S. leadership in the upcoming United Nations conference in Paris on climate change.”
