Catholic Charities USA asks Office of Management and Budget to keep in mind low-income communities when assessing Official Poverty Measure

Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA), the National Council of the United States Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP-USA), and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) asked the Office of Management and Budget to consider carefully how it calculates the Official Poverty Measure. Since low-income communities must meet certain requirements to be eligible for federal programs, the OPM must reflect the real level of poverty lived by millions of people in the United States.
