Stewardship Specialist

The Stewardship Specialist is responsible for planning and implementation of the stewardship and donor relations programs as part of a larger development plan. This position can be based out of anywhere in the state of West Virginia and has flexibility to work a hybrid schedule.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Establish a stewardship program that appropriately provides interaction and recognition of donors at all levels.
Maintain correct data, contact reports, and tracking of donor relations activities.
Develop messaging to existing and prospective donors, continually adapting a strong and compelling case for support.
Develop and refresh content for customized acknowledgement letters, recognition materials, and stewardship materials.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Establish meaningful connections between the organization and its supporters.
Meet with individual donors to personally thank them for their gifts.
Maintain relationships with existing donors.
Broaden individual donor base.
Coordinate individual giving campaigns and support direct response appeals.
Maintain Online profiles, such as Charity Navigator and GuideStar
Manage and promote ways to give, such as the Neighborhood Investment Program, Combined Federal Campaign, corporate matching gifts, etc.
Develop a pipeline to cultivate and steward major gifts in conjunction with the Chief Mission Officer and Chief Executive Officer
Coordinate donor receptions.
Promote awareness of CCWVa’s mission
Represent the organization’s mission to donors, potential donors and other external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

·         Bachelor’s degree

·         Experience in fundraising (i.e., donor relations, special events) at least 3 years’ experience.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Ability to organize and prioritize work.

·         Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills
