ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Family and Youth Success (FAYS) program helps families deal with everyday struggles.  We help youth overcome challenges and develop and succeed in healthy ways.  Our FAYS program offers one-on-one coaching/counseling to children and their families.

As a FAYS Case Manager/Counselor, you will provide help and create hope in the lives of children and families by delivering services to our program participants.  In this important role, you will have a direct impact on families by receiving intake calls, providing crisis intervention services, and providing on-going short-term family and youth counseling.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a member of our team, you will have an impact on our program participants through accomplishment of the following responsibilities:

  • Establish and build supportive working relationships with program participants and their families
  • Provide therapeutic interaction to assist parent in re-gaining, building, and maintaining effective coping skills and a supportive and nurturing environment for their family
  • Provide effective and appropriate crisis intervention counseling and skill-based training to youth and families face-to face, over the phone, or virtually, and provide appropriate documentation of these services
  • Utilize therapy methods specifically designed for children and adolescents who may have a background of abuse or trauma
  • Be willing to work a flexible schedule (some evenings and weekends) as arranged, and be willing to participate in an on-call rotation

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM

To be successful in this role and be a great addition to our team, we need you to come with the following MINIMUM qualifications:

  • MUST BE BILINGUAL (Fluent in English and Spanish)
  • Experience working with children and families OR bachelor’s degree in a related field (ex: Sociology, Psychology)
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development and family systems to develop treatment plans based on goals and outcomes
  • Ability to perform timely and accurate case documentation and paperwork as directed
  • Attend continuing education classes as required and accrue 16 hours of continuing education and training per year
  • Attend supervision and staff meetings as required
  • Vehicle with Texas liability insurance coverage
  • A professional commitment to our agency values, so as to perform tasks and responsibilities in alignment with our mission and values

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to the minimum qualifications listed above, some preferred qualifications would be:

  • LPC or LPC-a, or Master’s Degree in Counseling, Education or Social Services
  • Proficient ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish
  • Previous experience in case management
