On May 25, 2026, Catholic Charities USA President and CEO Kerry Alys Robinson released the following statement in reaction to the publication of Magnifica Humanitas, the first encyclical of Pope Leo XIV’s pontificate:

“With Magnifica Humanitas, Pope Leo XIV has presented our church and our world with an invaluable ethical and spiritual framework for thoughtfully approaching powerful new technologies. The Holy Father has reminded us that technological advancements always should be made in service of human dignity and human flourishing. Across the Catholic Charities network, we look forward to deeply reading and reflecting on this new encyclical and applying its teachings to our work serving our neighbors in need around the United States.”
