The Senior Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic and operational partner to the Chief Human Resources Officer in advancing Catholic Charities USA’s mission and organizational goals through excellence in human resources management. The Senior Human Resources Manager is responsible for the administration and continuous improvement of employee benefits programs, employee relations practices, talent acquisition processes, and HR operations. This role supports the employee lifecycle from recruitment through retention while ensuring compliance with employment laws, organizational policies, and Catholic values. The position contributes to an engaged, high-performing workforce that enables CCUSA to fulfill its mission of serving people, families, and communities in need.

Responsabilidades principales
Benefits Administration (35%)
- Administer all employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, leave programs, and wellness initiatives.
- Serve as the primary liaison with benefit brokers, carriers, third-party administrators, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage annual open enrollment processes, employee communications, and benefits education initiatives.
- Monitor benefits utilization, costs, and trends; recommend improvements that support employee well-being and organizational sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including ACA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, ERISA, and related requirements.
- Coordinate leave administration and accommodations in partnership with managers and external parties.
- Assist with benefits budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning.
Employee Relations (25%)
- Foster a positive, mission-centered workplace culture that reflects CCUSA’s commitment to dignity, inclusion, respect, and justice.
- Provide guidance and consultation to managers and employees regarding workplace conduct, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and employee concerns.
- Assist in workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions (when necessary).
- Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
- Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and HR procedures.
- Partner with leadership to address organizational change initiatives and workforce planning efforts.
- Ensure consistent and equitable application of policies and employment practices.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Support (25%)
- Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for exempt and non-exempt positions.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies and identify talent needs.
- Manage candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Enhance employer branding and candidate experience to attract mission-driven talent.
- Develop and maintain relationships with recruitment partners, professional associations, universities, and faith-based networks.
- Monitor recruiting metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support onboarding and integration efforts that promote employee engagement and retention.
HR Operations & Compliance (15%)
- Maintain accurate HR records and data within the HR system of record.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Human Resources and Payroll departments, collaborating on payroll processing, benefits administration, and leave management
- Prepare HR reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics for leadership.
- Support annual performance management, compensation, and workforce planning processes.
- Stay current on employment law developments and HR best practices.
- Participate in special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.
Conocimientos/competencias/habilidades
- Comprehensive knowledge of human resources principles, practices, and employment law.
- Strong understanding of employee benefits administration and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of talent acquisition strategies, employee relations practices, and performance management.
- Familiarity with nonprofit organizational environments and mission-driven workplaces.
- Understanding of Catholic social teaching, faith-based organizational culture, or willingness to learn and support the mission and values of CCUSA.
- Exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and consultation skills.
- Strong conflict resolution, mediation, and investigative skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency with HRIS/payroll platform, Paylocity, Microsoft Office Suite, and HR reporting tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Seven (7) or more years of progressive human resources experience, including significant responsibility for benefits administration, employee relations, and talent acquisition.
- HR certification such as SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR preferred.
- Experience in a nonprofit, membership association, faith-based, or Catholic organization preferred.
