The fall issue of Charities USA magazine considers the collaboration between Catholic Charities agencies and local Catholic parishes in the area of parish social ministry. Catholic Charities seeks to help parishes fulfill their mission of sharing the good news of Jesus through word and deed with all people in the community.
The issue includes an article on best practices for social advocacy efforts at parishes from the perspective of Catholic Charities USA’s Parish Social Ministry Leadership Team. Also featured is the success of an emergency voucher system used by Catholic Charities Eastern Washington and parishes to provide funds and services to people experiencing great need.
