CCUSA opposes Graham-Cassidy health care repeal proposal

September 22, 2017

In a letter to the U.S. Senate, Sister Donna Markham OP, PhD, president and CEO of Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA), expressed strong opposition to the “Graham-Cassidy” health care repeal proposal. Throughout the health care reform discussions, CCUSA has consistently called for the protection of the millions who have access to health care coverage and for the provision of coverage to those who have no access. Instead of expanding health care coverage, the Graham-Cassidy proposal reduces coverage for those least able to afford it. Any reform legislation should not only expand coverage, but improve it by reducing costs and respecting human life and dignity. Read the full letter.
