Conferences and Institutes for Agency and Affiliate Member Staff

  • The CCUSA Annual Gathering is the preeminent gathering for Catholic Charities professionals, volunteers, and partners to advance our work, strategize about poverty reduction, and celebrate our shared identity.
  • Partners in Excellence regional convenings on mission, connection and professional development designed for Catholic Charities agency staff, Board and volunteers.  Registration is open for events taking place in Maine, June 24-25, 2013 and Philadelphia, July 29-30, 2013.  Additional events coming soon to Louisiana, New Mexico, Hawaii and Texas.
  • The Leadership Institute is a week-long interactive training uniquely designed for Catholic Charities directors, administrators, and program directors. The Institute provides an opportunity to deepen your commitment to the mission and vision of Catholic Charities, enhance spirituality, strengthen management skills, and develop a personal plan of action.  Contact Troy Zeigler for more information.
  • The O’Grady Institute provides a continuum of formation opportunities for diocesan directors of Catholic Charities agencies. Through advanced study and reflection on Scripture, history and theology, diocesan directors are provided an array of opportunities to form their hearts and strengthen their dedication to help Christ-in-need experience the richness of their humanity.  Open to all Diocesan Directors in 2013: Freiburg/Rome Campus May 24 – June 8, 2013.
  • The Applied Institute for Disaster Excellence (AIDE) is designed to equip the Catholic Charities network and diocesan staff for their roles in disaster preparedness and response. The Institute provides participants with the skills, understanding and tools necessary to ready their agency and diocese for disaster response and preparedness.   • From MISSION to SERVICE is a two-part program on mission-based leadership and organization development co-sponsored by the University of Notre Dame and Catholic Charities USA designed for senior leaders of Catholic Charities member agencies.

Special Events Open to the Public

  • Parish Social Ministry Regional Trainings are weekend conferences for parish and diocesan leaders to learn more about the Catholic social mission and discover effective strategies to respond to need and injustice in the parish. 2013 PSM Regional Trainings will be held:May 17-18 in Boise, ID; October 18-19 in Memphis, TN and November 1-2 in Spokane, WA.
  • The Keep the Dream Alive Mass and Awards, cosponsored by CCUSA and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington, is held  annually to keep the dream of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. alive and honor national figures who work to reduce poverty and promote racial justice.

Online Training and Networking for Agency and Affiliate Member Staff

  • CCUSA offers a plethora of free webinars for agency and affiliate member staff and volunteers on a wide range of topics, typically hosted by our national office staff.
  • The Fifty-Five Minute Training Series, developed by top volunteer experts, helps volunteer managers design effective and creative volunteer positions, recruit volunteers, and manage volunteer performance problems. Contact Matthew Price for more information.
  • CCUSA has partnered with Essential Learning to provide a robust online course library and interactive training program that can be accessed by local Catholic Charities agencies. These tools help agency staff keep up with the latest developments in their field and earn continuing education credits from national accrediting bodies.  Contact Troy Zeigler for more information.
