Catholic Charities USA’s centennial activities will celebrate our members’ work to bring dignity and respect to all people and to advocate the broader community to live a life of justice and social concern.

The centennial is an opportunity to talk to the whole country about the mission, history, and future of CCUSA and our fight against poverty.

Centennial Leadership Summits

Centennial Leadership Summits are an opportunity for civic leaders, elected officials, philanthropists, service providers, and interested citizens to take part in a conversation that will identify ways to reduce poverty by 50 percent by the year 2020.

Our Key Strategies

• Teach the country about programs that demonstrate effectiveness in reducing poverty through housing, hunger, health, economic stability or education/job training and demonstrate their commitment to Catholic identity while using them as a teaching moment for the network 
• Advocate for the passage of national landmark legislation that addresses systemic change to reduce poverty in America
• Record and share the history of Catholic Charities USA as the national office in academic and popular venues
• Celebrate achievements in liturgy and festivities throughout the country through regional gatherings book ended by Annual Gatherings in 2009 and 2010
• Develop an enhanced media platform that celebrates past accomplishments, advocates for systemic change on behalf of the poor and paves the way for future work
• Support the work of Catholic Charities USA with philanthropic investments that build an infrastructure the next century of service to the poor
