SSI Extension for Elderly and Disabled Refugees Act
7/19/2005 — This bill would amend the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA), to prevent termination of critical assistance to elderly and completely disabled refugees and asylees. It would allow these destitute humanitarian immigrants to receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for two more years and put those who have already lost benefits back on SSI rolls.
