Alexandria, VA—Rev. Larry Snyder, president of Catholic Charities USA, whose agencies provided substantial assistance to victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, issued the following statement today on the 8th anniversary of 9/11:
"As we reflect in peace and prayer today, let us all remember that we are marking the 8th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Our prayers and thoughts are still with all those who lost their lives.
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Catholic Charities employees and volunteers—especially those in New York, New Jersey, and Virginia—who have worked so tirelessly and continue to work to support the 9/11 victims and their families. We share an equal expression of thanks for the compassion and generosity of all our donors who have provided financial contributions to support our work.
We will not forget September 11. We commend all of you who are commemorating this day with your personal gift of volunteer service to those who stand in need in our communities. We ask for your continued support, thoughts, and prayers on this 8th anniversary date."
