Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Legacy to be honored during Catholic Charities Annual “Keep the Dream Alive” Mass & Awards

Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA) and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington invite you to join us* on Saturday, January 12, 2013, as we honor Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and contemporary heroes who keep his dream alive through their work to reduce poverty in America. The event will take place during the celebration of Mass with Most Reverend Martin D. Holley, Archdiocese of Washington serving as presider and Monsignor Charles Pope, pastor of Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian as homilist.

WHO: Rev. Larry Snyder, President of CCUSA, and Msgr. John Enzler, President and CEO of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington, will be presenting their awards to:

  • Rev. William M. Lies, C.S.C., Vice President for Mission Engagement and Church Affairs at the University of Notre Dame;
  • Carolyn Tisdale, Retired Executive Director, Catholic Charities of West Tennessee;
  • Beverly Carroll, Assistant Director in the Secretariat for Cultural Diversity in the Church at the United States Conference on Catholic Bishops (USCCB); and
  • The Honorable Arthur Burnett, Sr., Retired Judge, District of Columbia Superior Court
